Inkabilities Spin Art backgrounds

Ok- I made a totally cool discovery tonight. I used my Inkabilities with my son's spin art machine. We went to Wal-Mart and they got a spin art machine. It came with neon inks and black glossy paper. So, as soon as I saw the black glossy paper, I thought about my Inkabilities. I cut up some white glossy paper and went to work. I had the best time dropping the inks over the spinning paper. I tried a whole bunch of ink colors. They all looked great. So, you should all get a spin art machine. They are inexpensive and a bunch of fun. I will upload some samples of the papers soon.

This does sound cool. I can't wait to see the samples, too. Isn't true that there are so many products/toys for children that WE need/want! :D

Spin Art

Spin art is exactly what I thought KV's son's rainbow sponge background looked like in the gallery. When I posted my response to his gallery piece I wrote that it looked like spin art to me!! Gee, I was afraid no one would know what I meant. :D I'm glad I'm not the only one who remembered those machines.:)

I couldn't just upload the background without any stamping over it. So, I chose a very sparse spin-art background and put some cut out stars over it. This was a bunch of fun to make. My sons made a bunch more tonight. They just love the way they look with the Inkabilities. They already set aside the inks that came with the machine.

Jil...

How cool is that!!! I love the way that turned out... I remember playing with my spin art as a kid, guess I will have to get me one to play with as an adult... I do like how that turned out and your choice of embelleshiment made it really cool.... I know that you were having a great time with the spin machine... Thanks for sharing your new toy with us!!! Have fun...

Spin Art Fireworks!

WOW!

This looks like fireworks on the Fourth of July! The stars seem to explode out of the background.

Isn't it great to find new uses for old (nd new) toys? Your kids will be lucky to have a turn on their spin art machine! LOL

Spin Art

Jil,

Love it! I can see endless possibilities with this toy, too. Great job of accenting with those stars. Thanks for sharing this idea with us.

this looks AWESOME!

I have long been eyeing the spin art thingie at toys r us, wondering how it would work w/reinkers!

you have confirmed my suspicions!!

I have also eyed those spirograph thingies, but since that is more for use w/pens etc I'm not quite sure how i could work the reinker in to that (my husband says, the spirograph nowadays doesn't have near as many types of "gears" thingies, for making a large variety of patterns, as it used to when we were growing up; I never had one so i don't know about it!)

that spin art thingie just looks neat. Now i'm imagining the metallics (not that i have any yet) w/some other stuff brayered over as a sort of resist, or semi-resist. OR splattering over some type of say the resist paper, or a stamped resist design. OR hmm poshabilities! lots of em. As a sci fi nut and a big FAN of resist techniques i can't help saying, Resistance is Futile. (but bee-yoo-ti-ful!). Oops off on a tangent. anyway you are inspiring me w/ideas and ideas and ideas.

Wow

This is a really neat card and another good example of looking outside the box. It is just endless the possibilites of using this. I love the bright colors and it looks easy to do with great effects.

I found the spin art machine in the crafts section. There is an entire row of kids craft supplies. It was there. Good Luck finding it.
