Even though I'm supposed to be packing to go camping for a week - your samples motivated me to get mine out and play...here's two that are dry
top one is"
bottle green & stream
Bottom one is:
wild plum, carmel & name this color (blue)
Used cotton balls soaked with rubbing alcohol on semi-gloss white CS.
See you-all in a week!

Thanks, Barb, for the fantastic tutorial and to Blossom and AnnetteMay for sharing their great examples, too!

Blossom: I absolutely LOVED your mix of inks and the results had the depth of a kaleidoscope...just an awesome result for polished stone and the card came out wonderfully! I don't see how you could bear to cut up that fantastic background! LOL The background itself was just "too pretty to cut" and if I had done it, I would have framed it as is. LOL

This is a great tutorial! Blossom I love your background - it is so rich and elegent. And Barb - wow on everything. We learned to use this technique on the cruise and I also used it for my background swap - see below. I have a question. I bought the metallic mixatives. How do you apply these?

So - did you all enjoy my example in the above thread - that was my clear alcohol inks done on acetate! I realized about 8 hours after I replied to this thread, after I'd turned off the computer for the night and was getting ready to go to bed, that I'd forgotten to download my example. Now how's that for delayed reaction! So lets try this again shall we This was done on off white glossy paper that I purchased on major big-time sale at Marco. I used three different colors - I think it was denim, butterscotch and rust. At the suggestion of my husband I did not cover the entire surface. Just another way to use that wonderful technique. Again thanks for this tutorial. Oops - forgot to mention that I used a marble background stamp from Stampington with Brilliance metallic ink as well.
