Lois, I will be praying for both of you. Love you and wish you the best. I loved all of your funny snow stories. We are finally seeing temps in the 40's. Heat wave. There is a robin outside the window singing his heart out every day. Now instead of snow closing the schools, it's flu closing them. I ended up in ER yesterday, but it wasn't the flu. It was just a viral bug. That didn't help me Tues night when I spent the whole night being sick. No explanation needed. I did sleep all night last night and am slowly regaining my strength. Hopefully we'll be enjoying buds on the trees and flowers soon.

It's not too warm, yet, but at least the sun is shining like crazy. That always makes me feel better. Hope you all have sunshine where you are.

Happy Belated Easter everyone. We had a wonderful day. Traditional Easter brunch and lots of dyed eggs. Then went to my sister's house for dinner. She makes this crazy chicken dinner from the book "Silver Palate Cookbook." Chicken, spanish olives, prunes. It sounds crazy but it's SOOOOO yummy!

That does sound yummy. I love chicken dishes. I would pick chicken over steak any day.
We had a quiet Easter as well. Just my hubby and oldest since my other two had plans with their significant others families. I went untraditional with my meal. I made roast beef, with corn, rolls, gravy and whipped mashed potatoes with goat cheese. So yummy! Still a little cold here in Northeast Ohio. When will the warm weather come and more importantly, stay?
Hope everyone had a special Easter, with whatever meal they had, hugs, DebRN

let's get some chatting going

Let's get some chatting going! What crafty things have you been working on lately! Have you tried any new items?

I tried the new pearl alcohol inks and I found that they don't fan out like the regular alcohol inks do even when applying more alcohol to them. The best way I have used them is to place the inks on a craft mat and smoosh your glossy card stock through them.

I also tried the alcohol lift ink and found that it does not work on glossy card stock -- only on yupo paper. It does great on that.

I would love to hear what you are working on and maybe I can try some new and fun things!

Hi April,
I have some Alcohol pearl inks on order in a kit that I ordered. In that kit, they have some silver sparkle paper from Tim Holts, so I am excited to try that. I recently went to Adventures in Stamping in Akron, OH and bought some new stamps, glitter markers and a heart die. I can't wait to stamp some of the bigger stamps that I bought, a dogwood flower stamp and a cluster of poppies that I want to emboss and watercolour. I have also been into stencils as well, lately. I bought a container of glitter paste and some nuvo mousse as well at the stamping convention. So I want to start using this to make some cards with stencils. So, that is what I am planning on doing in the next few days. How about the rest of you Poshies? Hugs, DebRN

Debbie, I would love to see what you do with your stamps and stencils. I love working with stencils. There re so many ways to use them. I recently made some embellishments using acetate. Stamped dragonflies on acetate and then used glitter on the back of the wings. They turned out nice. I have not stamped on acetate for a long time.

What are some crafty things you all have been doing lately?

Debbie, have you tried your alcohol pearl inks yet? What do you think? I tried them awhile back and found that they did not run like the regular alcohol inks even when applying more alcohol to them. The best results I got was to drop the inks on my craft sheet, spritz with 90% alcohol and swipe yupo paper through the inks. They blended more that way.

Yesterday I was looking through some of my old backgrounds trying to find something that I could show 2 friends who are coming over to stamp with me tomorrow. Has anyone tried this technique before?

Apply alcohol inks on acetate or plastic piece. When dry, stamp a solid stamp using black Archival ink onto the alcohol ink side, than wipe off the black ink with a soft cloth or tissue. The alcohol ink will lift off and you will have a clear image left. You can then place the alcohol piece over white card stock and it will show up well. I have added a picture!
