Just jewelry
This new thread is near and dear to my heart. Here's the place to show everyone your stamped pins, necklaces, bracelets, earrings, rings, tie tacks or cufflinks. You can make stamped jewelry out of wood, metal, stained glass, sea glass, flat gemstones, agate slices, pieces of slate or sheet mica, shrink plastic, polymer clay, paper clay, cardstock or anything else you can think of.
I'll start the ball rolling with a necklace I finished this afternoon. I made it by laying a Tim Holtz ornate frame over two flowers on the Posh fan stamp from one of the Asian sets and pouring UTEE into the frame. When the UTEE hardened, I pulled the frame off the stamp, popped out the UTEE piece and painted the raised flowers with Smooch ink. Let that dry, slicked Diamond Glaze over the top with my finger and glued the piece back in the frame. Then I dragged out all my purple beads and started stringing. Thanks to Suze Weinberg for coming up with the technique of pouring UTEE into a frame over a stamp. |

That is a beautiful set! I love it. We did some stamping on jewelry at the convention at Grapevine. I got all the stuff to make it at home, but have not done it yet. Have to find my melting pots first. They are buried somewhere in this stamping room. Who knows where. Hopefully I'll find them soon!

just jewelery
The next time you want to make a piece of jewelry, take a stroll down the mosaic/stepping stone aisle of your craft store. Tiles make a great canvas to stamp on. They come in square, circle, flower and heart shapes to name a few. You get a large amount for under ten bucks too. Also check out the tile aisle in your local home improvement store for larger tiles to make pendants. I used heart shape tiles in pink, rose and burgundy to make this bracelet. I edged the tiles with a gold paint pen. I stamped a butterfly, flower with leaves, and part of a fern (all Posh ATC stamps) with gold pigment ink and embossed with detail gold powder. Stuck a jewel on each heart and then sealed with a drop of Diamond Glaze spread with my finger.
The base of each heart is a vintage brass piece. Vintage because they have been in my basement for God knows how long. The brass was sealed with clear nail polish and the pieces were joined with jump rings. The clasp is a magnet clasp. Anything could be used as a base including shrink plastic, polymer clay, wood, grungeboard or anything else you could make a base out of. Anybody else have tile jewelry to share? It's beautiful Kathy. Thanks for the great idea. ![]() hugs, gingerbaby Wow, ok now, you need to sell these to the public!! They are very pretty! Thanks for the tip and explanation on how to make them ![]() Last edited by gingerbaby; 07-29-2014 at 07:42 AM. |

HOLY MOLY Kathy, that is a very beautiful piece of jewelry art. I am so impressed, I had to enlarge the image just to admire it. Now we need to know how to do it ourselves. You are an artisan. I admire your work so much. Thank you for sharing it.
