Smile Nov/Dec Recycle Challenge.

Since we're already about halfway thru November & this is such a hectic period for so many of us, I thot we might do a challenge that extends past the end of Nov. & into Dec.

I'm thinking Dec. 22 would be a good closing date for this challenge.

With that established, let's talk 'recycle'! My mom was/is a wrapping paper/ribbon saver of longstanding. Willing to bet lots of us are the same. So...

Here's what you have to do to enter this recycle challenge:
1. Find a piece of 'saved' wrapping paper (doesn't have to be Christmas paper ) & use it as part of your entry--card, tag, atc, etc.

2. Your entry must include at least one stamp image--non-sentiment. And you may also include sentiment stamps, but there has to be an image one.

3. If possible, include a Judikins or Posh stamp in your entry, but this is not required.

After the closing date, I'll draw a random name from the entries & send that person a Rak.

Food for thought? You might get a jump on your Valentine &/or Easter projects with this challenge. Lots of my 'saved' Christmas papers would work for more than Christmas.

This is a good one. I need to look through my stash. I have been using gift bags mostly, but I am sure I will find some wrapping paper. Thanks for the challenge.

Talking

Good point on 'gift bags', April! Lots of us save those, too. So you can definitely use saved gift bags--part or whole--as material for this challenge.

And being in a generous mood , I will consider a material to be 'saved' aslong as you did not purchase it during 2013.

Cool, Loosy! I have 'saved' wrap from when Santa was still in diapers & Frosty was just a few flakes!

I'm starting my entry today!

I sat down today and made my card for this challenge. It is a rainy day so a good day for crafting. I started with Christmas tissue paper that came in a gift bag. I laid the tissue paper on sticky paper to give it some substance and used a die to cut a frame shape. The stamp is my favorite Cardinal from Inkadinkado. Daniel, thanks for the fun challenge. I have all my Christmas cards made, but I made one more. At least I will have some left over to start next year! Sorry the pictures came out so BIG!

Very pretty, I would never guess that there was anything leftover there in that card!

April - that is so pretty. (And non-denominational.) Perfect for any winter holiday.

Holy Cow, April! This is gorgeous! Thanks for sharing a separate pic of the tissue--I'd never have known.

I know you did lots more than just what you shared, but that's fine. I see embossing & the color behind the diecut looks like it's an extension of the ribbon. Just wonderful!

Thanks for taking the challenge, Willy!

The red you see around the bird is actually part of the die. There is a solid die you cut first -- I used red card stock to cut -- then the other die is open and laid over the red card stock to show through. This is a new Spellbinders die I purchased -- Gold Majesty Circles -- and I just love it!

Thanks for the kind comments everyone.

Very pretty card, April. No one would know that the background started out as wrinkled tissue paper!

Here is my effort. The background was golf wrapping paper. This is a gatefold card. The stamp is by Art Impressions, and the writing is my own.
